Following the video’s viral spread, BMRCL issued a clarification stating that the primary concern was Aman’s apparent intoxication. “The officials suspected that the passenger was in an inebriated state, and he was made to stand to ensure he would not trouble women and children while travelling on the Metro. After counselling, he was allowed to travel,” a BMRCL official explained.
This incident has led to discussions about the enforcement of dress codes and behavior guidelines in public transportation, highlighting the balance between individual rights and collective safety. BMRCL emphasized their commitment to equal treatment for all passengers, irrespective of their socioeconomic status.
