The efforts to honor Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar by naming the Pottery Town Station on the Namma Metro Pink Line between Gottigere and Nagawara has gained significant momentum.

Pressure is mounting to name the Pottery Town Metro Station on the Pink Line of Namma Metro after Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar. The Pink Line runs between Gottigere and Nagawara.

The Karnataka Bahujan Federation has sent letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, the Governor, and the Metro MD, requesting the renaming. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has responded positively, and CM Siddaramaiah has also written to the Metro MD to review this request.

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has told activists that they will check if naming the station after Puneeth Rajkumar complies with the rules. Local residents are urging quick action, noting that 50% of the work on this section is already complete.

The Namma Metro Pink Line is the longest underground metro line in Bangalore, spanning 21.26 km, with 13.76 km underground and 7.5 km elevated. It connects Kalena Agrahara, Bannerghatta Road, and Nagawara, featuring 18 stations, 12 of which are underground.

An official announcement may come soon, with all signs pointing towards the renaming happening in the near future.
